My Husband's Car - Nissan 200SX - XAS 250

This was my husband's car, the one which he bought when he studied in the States. This was the car, which took our family to places whilst we were in the States. When we need to find Halal meat, we had to drive up, almost 7 hours, to Carbondale, IL, and drove back the following day. This car was one of our means of survival. Many thanks to his Nissan 200SX. Sadly and heavy heartedly, we had to sell it off upon returning to Malaysia.

So, for his birthday, I was determined to present him this..................

With love to my dearest husband, the father of my beloved children. Stay K.I. forever!
A happy birthday wish from our children to you, too.

My Son's 15th Birthday

This is the main reason why I am into cake decorating. Doing it myself, I can choose the design, theme and the cake flavor as I like. The satisfaction, particularly decorating for my loved ones, cannot be described and the experience is priceless.

My son and I shared the same aim i.e. special effect cake for his birthday cake.. Something chocolatey, something strawberry, and something orangey, we created this fantabulous volcano cake.

See the smoke that came out, surrounding the volcano... due to the eruption of the volcano.

Satisfied? Not only him, but I was, too! I have been wanting to decorate this type of cake for a long time. Happy Birthday, Syed Mohammad Iqbal!

Aira's Birthday Cake - 25 April 2010

Happy 2nd Birthday, Sharifah Ariana Humaira!

Until now, if Channel 613 airs Mickey Mouse ClubHouse, Aira will in front of the television, dancing and cheering for Mickey and friends. She still calls Mickey "Mika", the word that catches from the phrase "Meeska, Mooska, Mickey Mouse!" Don't blame us... despite our attempts to correct her, she still insists that Mickey is Mika.

Here is the pictures of her and her birthday cake.. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Glad that she likes it.

Happy 6th Birthday, My Dearest Daughter, Alyssa!

Her birthday was on Tuesday, 23 March 2010.

"Sayang, can we celebrate it on Friday. Ummi promise that I will be on leave that day, to celebrate your birthday. Abah and Ummi will be there at your school". That was my request to my daughter, who's turning 6 years old in a day time. "Okay, Ummi" said Alyssa.

That Thursday night, I was set in front of the table... baking, covering the cakes, dressing the dolls, decorating the cakes and cupcakes, modelling the butterflies, snails, ducks and mushrooms....

Here is my creation for my darling daughter...

Where's Ummi? She was taking the picture, lah!

All About Airbrushed Techniques..

Salam.

One of the techniques I've learnt in cake decorating is the airbrushed technique. One of my favourite sifu is none other than the amazing Tan See Fong. If you see him at work, you'll be very impressed.
So, using this technique, I'm able to come up with the following...

Looking forward to Cars 2 Movie

There were times when the Pixar's movie, Cars , was at no. 1 , many boys were very, very obsessed with the characters. Of course, the one most liked was not Tow Mater, the tow truck (sorry mate!) but the one and only, Lightning McQueen. So, there were several requests for LMQ's cakes, be it edible images, photo cakes and also sculptured cakes.
Here are some of the pictures of thecakes which I have made....

"Life begins at 40" Cakes

They say that life begins at 40. These are my siblings and they have joined this club. I note that I shall be joining them soon. But don't they look cool...

Girls Rule!!!

Another set of birthday cakes using edible image. The "Mulan-Rynna" cake was the second edible image which I designed. It was difficult to find the perfect picture to match Ryanna's original picture but when I found this particular picture of Mulan, I was ecstatic. It fitted exactly perfect with Ryanna's. So, with some creativity and imagination, this is what I was able to come up with. I'm so glad that my dearest friend, Shireen, was very happy.

This is cake was ordered by my dear friend, Janet. I'm very touched with her story on how she surprised her daughter with the birthday cake. Of course, she threw a birthday party but no one was allowed to peep at the birthday cake, not even her other children. Because the cake was covered in sugarpaste, it was safe to leave it in the closet, instead of the refrigerator. So, the time has arrived for the candle blowing and cake cutting. The cake was carried into the hall .... and for the first time, the birthday girl, Megan, saw the cake. No words came out from her mouth.. SHE WAS SPEECHLESS. Hence, Janet asked Megan if she likes the cake. Megan said that she LOVED the cake!!!! Seeing the cake, having her photo together with Lizzie Mcguire were too much for Megan... Of course, as a mother, if the child is happy, Janet was too. And as for me, if my customer is happy, it's worth all my time and effort.

The thing that I like about this case was the challenge to come up with the edible picture. The girl, Seetha, was actually hugging her father. Whereas, it was difficult to find a decent picture of Christina Aguillera. I was lucky to find the one of Christina which is very decent, a picture which would be instantly approved by mothers. So, finally, I managed to come out with this edible image and cake.

Mommy, I Would Like To Have Doll Cake, please......

Doll cakes are sooooo beautiful.. Nothing is more beautiful than using a Barbie doll for your cake. It serves 2 purposes, namely, a beautiful doll cake and a play doll (just clean the doll after the cake cutting), a gift for the birthday.

I even baked for myself for my 23rd birthday. Because it was mine, the cake was extremely heavy... (4 + kg).

Others..

Now you see why I say that Barbie doll cake is the prettiest...... I hope you will concur with my view.

Happy Birthday To You!!!

Drum roll...rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......

Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to all of you
Happy birthday to you..........

The boys just loved them especially seeing their faces with their favourite characters. They were really the Power Rangers' fans.
