Another alternative that can be given to guests as door gift is sugar boxes. 
Why sugar boxes? I like sugar boxes because they are long-lasting as they are bug-free and do not get spoil easily when compared to cupcakes and cakes. You may want to fill in the boxes with quality candies/chocolates or perhaps, "pot pourri". I did my first sugar box for my wedding as "hantaran" as shown here.
